~This is an act of God~

Was it the Pilot or the act of God when all 155 people were saved at Hudson River  (Airbus A320)...

How can a pilot take the plane where ever he wants ( In Hudson River) when both the engine's of the plane failed?

If the Pilot Saved all those 155 people than who saved these people? - Read on !!!

When a Nebraska church exploded in 1950, no one was injured because every member of the choir was late arriving for practice that evening.

As unbelievable as this story is, it did happen. Despite the explosion's taking place five minutes after choir practice was scheduled to begin, not one of the fifteen people who should have been present had yet arrived when the building collapsed:

Choir practice at the West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice, Nebraska, always began at 7:20 on Wednesday evening. At 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 1950, an explosion demolished the church. The blast forced a nearby radio station off the air and shattered windows in surrounding homes.

But every one of the choir's fifteen members escaped injury, saved by a fortuitous coincidence: All were late for practice that night. Considering the sanctified site of the explosion, it was not surprising that some attributed the near miss to divine intervention.

They supposed rightly that the odds of unanimous tardiness were slim indeed, especially when the reasons were examined. Car trouble delayed two women. The minister and his wife and daughter were delayed by a dress that needed ironing at the last minute. Others were late because they paused to complete homework, finish a letter, or hear the end of a favorite radio show. One awoke late from a nap. Some could think of no special reason; they were just late.

It is impossible to calculate precise odds for all these events occurring at once. But past performance indicated that no person would be late for practice - producing a one-in-a-million chance that the entire choir would be late that night.

As to what those reasons were, whether they were of the garden variety or divine intervention ilk, judge for yourself:

It happened on the evening of March 1 in the town of Beatrice, Nebraska. In the afternoon the Reverend Walter Klempel had gone to the West Side Baptist Chruch to get things ready for choir practice. He lit the furnace — most of the singers were in the habit of arriving around 7:15, and it was chilly in the church - and went home to dinner. But at 7:10, when it was time for him to go back to the church with his wife and daughter Marilyn Ruth, it turned out that Marilyn Ruth's dress was soiled. They waited while Mrs. Klempel ironed another and thus were still at home when it happened.

Ladona Vandergrift, a high school sophomore, was having trouble with a geometry problem. She knew practice began promptly and always came early. But she stayed to finish the problem.

Royena Estes was ready, but the car would not start. So she and her sister called Ladona Vandergrift, and asked her to pick them up. But Ladona was the girl with the geometry problem, and the Estes sisters had to wait.

Sadie Estes' story was the same as Royena's. All day they had been having trouble with the car; it just refused to start.

Mrs. Leonard Schuster would ordinarily have arrived at 7:20 with her small daughter Susan. But on this particular evening Mrs. Schuster had to go to her mother's house to help her get ready for a missionary meeting.

Herbert Kipf, lathe operator, would have been ahead of time but had put off an important letter. "I can't think why," he said. He lingered over it and was late.

It was a cold evening. Stenographer Joyce Black, feeling "just plain lazy," stayed in her warm house until the last possible moment. She was almost ready to leave when it happened.

Because his wife was away, Machinist Harvey Ahl was taking care of his two boys. He was going to take them to practice with him but somehow he got wound up talking. When he looked at his watch, he saw he was already late.

Marilyn Paul, the pianist, had planned to arrive half an hour early. However she fell asleep after dinner, and when her mother awakened her at 7:15 she had time only to tidy up and start out.

Mrs. F.E. Paul, choir director and mother of the pianist, was late simply because her daughter was. She had tried unsuccessfully to awaken the girl earlier.

High school girls Lucille Jones and Dorothy Wood are neighbors and customarily go to practice together. Lucille was listening to a 7-to-7:30 radio program and broke her habit of promptness because she wanted to hear the end. Dorothy waited for her.

At 7:25, with a roar heard in almost every corner of Beatrice, the West Side Baptist Church blew up. The walls fell outward, the heavy wooden roof crashed straight down like a weight in a deadfall. But because of such matters as a soiled dress, a catnap, an unfinished letter, a geometry problem and a stalled car, all of the members of the choir were late - something which had never occurred before.

Firemen thought the explosion had been caused by natural gas, which may have leaked into the church from a broken pipe outside and been ignited by the fire in the furnace. The Beatrice choir members had no particular theory about the fire's cause, but each of them began to reflect on the heretofore inconsequential details of his life, wondering at exactly what point it is that one can say, "This is an act of God."

Expect the unexpected
by Alfred on 25th Jan, 2009
Wow! How Mighty is our God!
Today I like to give my testimony, some time before the recession started I was given a message about how progress will come to almost a standstill. Also with that I was given an idea that things will change after about 10 months. In December I shared this message with my partner who is a un-believer (but has experienced God's glory) and he laughed at it. Looking at the situation no sensible person would imagine that things will change before 2 years at the least. When I told him this, I too did not know how things will change.

To add to it one of our biggest contracts got threaten and the organization under which we were working, their contract was getting terminated. Tenders were called and others also bided. Then we had received a message that the Lord is going to bless us, I believed and received it. Another organization which also bided for the tender tied up with us for the same contract and offered us better prices. Today they have been given the contract with us continued at the backend with better prices and more people. Even at this of recession while the world is throwing out people and we are doubling our staff! When I contacted placement organization for the X number of people, they could not believe and asked me to give this in writing. My partner today smiles when I remind him for exactly in 10 months (2 months more) we will be will be working under our new contract.

If you have received a Word and believed in it you will surely receive your blessing. The situation around you, your intelligence and people around you will tell you it is not possible, but our God is a God who specializes in the impossible.

Our God is given you a promise if you believe you will receive, if not you can wait with the rest of the world in the flesh for things to change.

act of God
by Mary Manjula on 25th Jan, 2009
praise God that was very wonderful to read about how God saved each and every choir member on that cold nite. since everyone come for choir practice on time or before time, but none turned up. its truly amazing to know how God does wonders.
regarding the recent incident of how the presence of mind of the pilot saved all those on board, well all i can see is that it is definetly the hand of God. it is the Holy Spirit who had led the pilot to steer the plane to the Hudson river.
truly our God is amazing. he can do wonders that no one can fathom.
all glory and honor to Christ the risen King.

Faith nothing but Faith.
by Sebastian D'Souza on 25th Jan, 2009
Dear Readers,
Many a times I have come across such miracles in the life of the people. And also I have come across people saying that to have such miracle in one's life, one must have faith. But seldom I have read people explainning what is a faith and how to have it in order to experience miracles in their life. Faith in ordinary sense is taken as what we believe is taken as faith. And everybody thinks that he has faith. In a worldly sense it is true. but when it comes to our living God it does not stand the test. Living God demands and commands living faith. Bible gives very good explaination about this living faith. In the New Testament there is a book called book of Hebrews. In this book of Hebrews Chapter 11 and verse 1 says. " Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. " Take each word and that itself makes it clear as to what is faith. Again in the same New Testament there is a book called book of Romans which St. Paul wrote. In this book of Romans Chapter 10 verse 17 says. " Consequently faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." so faith is not that what people believe or think. Bible is talking about live faith. Jesus is alive and what he inbibes is a live faith in their heart when people read his message. People need this live faith to experience miracles in their life. Today one believer whose name is Charles,an engineer from Panjim gave a testimony saying that the doctors from GMC gave him one months time that he would die. And they shifted him from general ward to a small room. But one night at middle of the night a bright light, very bright light appeared and there stood Jesus Christ and told him not to fear and he would heal him in four days which Jesus did. Hallelujah.
This engineer is alive and working in Panjim. Isn't it a miracle? My dear brothers and sisters you can experience miracles in your life. But for that one has to commit one's life to Jesus who is alive. He can do wonders in your life. Come to him and say this prayer. " Lord Jesus I believe that I am a sinner. I also believe that you died for my sins. Lord Jesus please forgive my sins and cleanse my heart with your precious blood. I commit my life to you. Lord Jesus give me your Spirit. I promise to read your word daily and follow your teaching. Lord Jesus thank you for forgiving my sins and accepting me as your child. Come into my life and lead and guide me in my daily life. Lord Jesus thank you for coming into my heart. Heavenly Father,I worship and praise you in the mighty name of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ." Dear brothers and sisters since you have accepted Jesus as your Saviour and Lord just believe that you have received the precious gift of salvation from God. He has accepted you as his rightful child and given you eternal life. Just rest in his mighty hands. He will definately protect you from evil powers Hallelujah. Do not forget to praise and worship him morning and evening. and also read his word that is the bible everyday. Bye.

Divine Intervention
by Ivan Lobo on 26th Jan, 2009
I believe in whatever happened at the Hudson River. It is indeed the Divine Intervention to save 155 people.
This is my testimony. I was working in Dubai, UAE. One day I was driving my car from Dubai to another Emirate in Sharjah, as I approached a busy roundabout, suddenly my car engine stopped right on the round on the roundabout, I could see big vehicles like trailers and trucks approaching at a high speed. I tried to move the car straight but the car miraculously moved forcefully to the left and halted on its own to a very very safe place. That moment I wondered who controlled my steering wheels in spite of the car engine seizure. I know it has to be the Holy Angles who has been given charge over us by the Almighty God.

Holy Spirit was his guide and controller
by Mrs Lourdes D'Costa on 27th Jan, 2009
We know for sure that the hand of God was at the steering wheel of the Plane guiding the Pilot to land without any loss to his human creations. For God nothing is impossible.

We must keep our FAITH strong it is then when things impossible can take place. When you surrender you must let God play his role. In my own case, on two occasions the Lord spoke to me, my daughter in her 5 months pregnancy she developed contractions, she was kept on drips. In my helplessness I cried out to my Lord, only kept on praising the Lord and there was inner voice telling me-“ Know that I am there” and she was blessed with a lovely girl child. In other instance, when my twin brother was being operated for open-heart surgery with 5 blockades, on the day of the operation in my desperation I ran at the Cross Maiden, Near Metro Cinema, Mumbai kneeling down at the foot of the Cross and crying out to my Lord Saviour to bless the hands of the Doctors who are operating upon him and to guide at them at every stage, then a inner voice told me – “Let not your heart be troubled” – I knew my Lord Jesus Christ took the charge of the operation and his operation was very, very successful and it is now two years.

No human lives can be saved without the hand of our Almighty Lord. His love has no bounds. God loves all his human creations and in time of peril, he is there to take us to safety.

My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak
by Maria Mattos on 27th Jan, 2009
I do believe that whatever happens in our lives is in accordance to the will of Our Father. November 2007 was a nightmare with all wrong medication and diagnosis, eventually when I went to Mumbai in December I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. According to my doctor I was really lucky to have reached in time but it was not luck, it was the grace of God, I know that during my operation and treatment it was God who stood by me, I felt so strong and healed during this time of my weakness. I kept proclaiming his promises, one of the scriptures that became my favourite one at the time was... "My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak” I am most happy then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ’s power over me. (2 Cor 12:9). With 9 chemo cycles I had minimal side effects, I was afraid of losing my hair and I prayed about it and he answered my prayer. On 27th June '08, the feast of my Heavenly Mother I was told all my results were clear and I did not need additional chemos as mentioned earlier. I do believe that she intercedes for us. I have gone for my annual check up and again all reports were clear. Praise and thanks to my Lord.
