God and the Spider - Guardian Angel

During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.

Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be Your will, please protect me. Whatever Your will though, I love You and trust You. Amen."

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close. He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this one." Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave.

"Hah, he thought.”What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humour."

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.

"Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man. "I had forgotten that in You a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget what God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways. And remember with God, a mere spider's web becomes a brick wall of protection.

Celebrate the day for God is in control!

God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called!

Prayer is the most powerful weapon

I believe in prayer, it is the most powerful weapon on this earth.

God listens to that prayer which comes from our heart.

Dear Ancy,
Christian greetings, You have striked the right cord. Very few people know that the word which comes from our heart can do wonders. God' eyes are on his children and His ears are towards their prayer. In Mathew chapter 6 Jesus teaches his disciples to pray. In verse 7 He says that when we pray we should not use vain repetitions as pagans or heathens do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. In fact God gets fade up with those same words repeated again and again. But Jesus warns in verse 8 where He says " Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. " He means to say that we should pray from our heart and not from our mind. And that is the real prayer. Because it is the cry of the heart.God likes such prayer.Infact He answers such prayer.
Prayer is powerful weapon which you have rightly said. And God has given this powerful weapon to us so that whenever we are in need of His help, we can cry out to Him and He come for our help.Moreover the same weapon we can use against the forces of darkness. More we build our prayer life, we become more powerful.When I became believer I used to wonder as to how other believers could pray for a long time even an hour. But now even two hours are not enough. I have learnt to pray in the Spirit. Once I open my mouth words come automatically, because the Holy Spirit takes hold of me and words start flowing from my mouth. That's why Paul says that we should pray in the Spirit. Even Bible says in John's gospel that God searches people who worship Him in Spirit and truth. (John 4:23) Nominal Christians will not understand what means to be a real worshiper who worships in Spirit and truth. When I praise God I feel God coming down and standing before me and when I worship I feel that I am lifted up by God. Because when I worship and praise I close my eyes. I don't know where I am. That is real sweet time.I rejoice in worshiping and praising. I do it whenever I get time especially early in the morning or during the day when others are having nap and I am alone. This is my own experience. Only born again people can understand what I mean. If anybody is interested in enjoying spiritual life then he or she should be born again first. Because this is the work of the Holy Spirit. And those who have the Holy Spirit know how to worship and praise God. And those are the people who can worship and praise God. And God is pleased with them. Hallelujah.
