This has always been a story that has remained in my memory and has been shared with very few (my children and a few others). Being born and raised a Catholic my experience with my Angel occurred a short while after making my first Holy Communion in 1979. It happened one evening while I was sleeping, I rolled over in bed and my Angel was before my eyes. She was beautiful with long blond hair, blue eyes and a most beautiful smile. So she did smile at me and and caressed my arm gently. All I could see was her radiant face yet at the same time I could see her tall body as she appeared parallel to my position in bed. I was excited after that experience and I told my beloved grandmother my experience and told her that she too could see her angel if she asked. Well, according to her she never did. But oddly enough I was frightened every night after that for several years to turn over in bed. Only in the past 5 years or so has my relationship with my angel grown. I wish more than ever to see her again. Once in a while I find my self lying on my bed speaking to her. I ask her favors, request her to deliver a message to a saint (as St. Pio instructed) or to remind me of things I need to do. Since I never knew that date she appeared to me in 1979, much to my disappointment, I asked her to appear again to me on the day her first apparition to me in '79.
Well I had an experience the Morning of August 6th 2010 (Transfiguration). As I was waking I saw very briefly above me the head of a woman whose features were that of my Angel's as I remember them. I will accept this date and an answer to my question. I now desire to know her name and continue to ask her.
Please consider the following prayer to your Guarding Angel. This was St. Gertrude's prayer to her's and it is most beautiful:
O most holy angel of God, appointed by God to be my guardian, I give you thanks for all the benefits which you have ever bestowed on me in body and in soul. I praise and glorify you that you condescended to assist me with such patient fidelity, and to defend me against all the assaults of my enemies. Blessed be the hour in which you were assigned me for my guardian, my defender and my patron. In acknowledgment and return for all your loving ministries to me, I offer you the infinitely precious and noble heart of Jesus, and firmly purpose to obey you henceforward, and most faithfully to serve my God. Amen.
